Bendable Poem by Laura Favela

Bendable

They say I'm a fast healer
The strongest they've known
But even toughest metal
Has a melting point.

I wish I could say
That I'm always alright
But I can't pretend
That I'm sleeping at night.

My home is mournful
My heart is sore.
Im lost in a sea
Without a shore.

I can't say that I'm done
That my heart is expendable
That the pain will last
Or that I am unbreakable

And I know at the end
The torment stops
But I can't survive
While my heart rots.
