Beloved On A Distant Land Poem by Subrat Pradhan

Beloved On A Distant Land

Rating: 4.8

Beloved alone on a distant land
With the fires and cries all around
Enemies with their daggers drawn
Friends and foes unidentified
Killing one another to pieces
Leaving on or the other to their destinies
The sky was turning red and black
And the mother earth
turning red with dripping blood
Of man and woman
Not knowing whose?
Foe's or friend's.
Pondering over I stared
At the starry night
What people get out of a fanatic fight
Sorrow for all the morrows
Beloved alone on a distant land
With the fires and cries all around.

Very sad, even gloomy. Just a bit of love, and it could have been a different picture. Love brings piece and hope. Strong imagery. Powerful message. Poem finely set.
