Belonging Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

Belonging

To the right
The terrain’s sky
Soft blue and endless
Black hair’s strand is brush
And canvas and her nose and heaven

This is then
When love flamed
Now my wine and silence
Now sky is news no more blue
Why do the U.S. born ditch passports?

Somewhere there in the air
Can’t you feel that scissor?
Working against pure love
For wealth-sake or the ego
