Beliefs Poem by John Sensele

Beliefs

Beliefs stalk my life and tear me from
My friends who no longer feel
We can roam and storm Rome
To strike a compromise deal.

Karl Max claims religion squashes
Brainwashes, smashes and turns
People into zombies and stashes
Their converted minds into folly urns.

In the name of religion, extremists
Kill people that believe and think
Differently from them: animists,
Who label fetishes in red ink.
