Belief Poem by Rakshanya Sekar

Belief

He was there!
He lived, loved, lied, died!
His soul wasn't pure, his intentions no gold,
But she lived too.
She lived, loved, fell, died.
Belief betrayed her,
Still she hopes, she does.
She knew, he will change,
For he claimed, he hadn't loved her!
Wasn't that the rule of the universe?
To lie?
She believed it was one, she had claimed he loved.
He betrayed, knowing she loved.
His every smirk, now condescending
His every sway portraying sarcasm,
His skin as cold as ice,
His eyes as fierce as a devil’s,
Did the matter > I doubt.
She still loves him, though a part of her is now dead.
