Being sensitive
- - - - - - - - - - - - -
Oh! Life, what thou art I know not
Mysterious, limitless and vast
Oft miss seeing the whole
While being caught in the trivial
Oft wish to see the vastness of sky
Seems implausible and a far cry
While shutting myself within a room
Can I see the light of freedom?
Lost in limitations and shallow thinking
Childish and not child-like I am portraying
To be innocent is to be open
So that can I observe life's essence
I see not the flower when I look at a flower
With likes and dislikes I perceive not it fair
As I get older and older
Dogmas, fears, and conflicts this mind encounters
Influencing the seeing by the world external
Thus leaving on the mind a stuff integral
To see the whole, I need to have child-like perspective
And not a childish perspective
Let me enter into the state of child-like perception
And experience the delight of the now-conception
Let me drain the cup of sentimentality
And fill it with sensitivity
To be sensitive is experiencing 'what is'
And sentimental is reacting from one's past to 'what is'
By this can I relate better with bitterness
And lead life with happiness

Beautiful poem. Life is always mysterious, to have child like perception, while thinking about life is very difficult. Child is so innocent, free from any meaning of life. Beautiful presentation. Loved reading it. +++10

Often our vision get blurred caught in the web of life casting a cloud on our perception. As you have very rightly pointed out, to break though this mirage, we required is a child-like perspective. A faaaaaaanstatic poem! ...10

Often we are annoyed by the trivialities of life. We are never in a position to see life and the universe in its vastness! As you say, we have to have a child like perception of things to be happy in life! A very mature and profound observation and a first rate poem! A 10
