Being Human

We are scared
Of the unknown
Of the things
We can't change
We are reluctant
To change our minds
Our thoughts
And ways
We fight
The things that frighten us
Or threaten
Our control
Of power
But we are
Only human
Scared of the unknown
So we become
Stuck in routine
Fleeting
From change

Poem of the Day

poet Sara Teasdale

Only in sleep I see their faces,
Children I played with when I was a child,
Louise comes back with her brown hair braided,
Annie with ringlets warm and wild.
