Behold! I’ll Do A New Thing (3) Poem by Michael P. Johnson

Behold! I’ll Do A New Thing (3)

Drop off those skins now cracked and dry
Adorn my Liquid Light
Let God restore what none can buy
What ‘s soon to be in sight

The Cana feast was good and fine
But that was in the past
Now drink my child Salvation’s wine
Your God has saved till last

Within new skins it can but thrive
The old would rip and tear
Beware today it could arrive
And God alone knows where

It comes in love, to guide and warn
Though strong, it’s sweet to taste
Receive it with Salvation’s dawn
Allow no dropp to waste

Receive my child at Jesus’ feet
Accept my word that’s true
It’s food each day for you to eat
So fresh as morning dew

Within each holy wall I build
Where stands but Jesus’ throne
Therein will precious wine be filled
Until today, unknown

Refuse another’s wine and live
Do all that you are told
Drink up the cup, your God will give
But lay aside the old

Do not be caught with vessel torn
No dropp should seep away
Through Jesus Christ, be now reborn
Right here, right now, today…
