Begin When? Poem by Ima Ryma

Begin When?

Abortion is evolving in
Science, law and morality.
Science says when life does begin
With lots of technicality.
A single cell can be called life,
And then more cells do get involved.
As fetus form, so form the strife
That other living have not solved.
There is no easy wrong or right.
The woman must choose in the end.
She loses most in any fight
The all the powers that be send.

When life begins, science may say,
But law says if and when to slay.
