Before I Forget

More than half-way
through my engagement
to the viscous swim
to the star
that will claim the soul
that still hovers not far,
before I forget:
before I entered the water,
when I was single,
how thin was the air,
how I could move out there.

Poem of the Day

poet Sir Walter Scott

The moon's on the lake, and the mist's on the brae,
And the Clan has a name that is nameless by day;
Then gather, gather, gather Grigalach!
Gather, gather, gather Grigalach!
