Because Jesus Is There
The donkeys brayed
And the pigs oinked
And the flies buzzed
On the walls lizards crawled
And the place was heavenly
For the young Jesus was there.
The stench was of animals
And flowers were not there
And gold was not found
And the place was heavenly
For the young Jesus was there.
The Lord sent the good news
And the wise men heard
And journeyed to the stink
Where the animals crawled
And found themselves in
A heavenly place, because:
The young Jesus was there.
