Because It Isn'T A Fairytale Poem by Vani Agarwal

Because It Isn'T A Fairytale

Eyes of amber she had,
Gave love to a careless lad.
Dreamt in day and woke at night,
Was dying had no foresight.
She knew where she went,
After her life had a dent,
She knew what was happening to her,
Tried to face it without fear.
She tried to laugh more than cry,
But ended up living a lie,
She felt pain as she bowed her head,
Before the doctor who lived on her shed.
She had burns within her heart,
Expressed them in the form of art,
She knew that one day the darkness would fade,
And that she will watch us happily as she played soul trade.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
This poem is describing the pain felt by a cancer patient. The hard times one has to face when attacked by this fatal and dreadful disease. My good wishes to all those and their families who had to face cancer and I hope that those who are dealing with it now soon heal and fight back. In my poem, she dies. However, you don't have to be like that. Fight it out!
