Beauty Poem by Sathya Narayana

Beauty

Rating: 4.9

Countless are beauties
to suit every taste:
one Venus, one goddess
and many an angel;
seen, vied for and gloated at!
But lo, what is beauty?

For one, fair skin is lovely
to another, black is a bounty,
but blonde is gorgeous for many.

Lively smile, lotus eyes, long legs
or total comely structure...
ah, What is beauty? Where is beauty?

Theories were floated
and thoughts were purveyed!
Frustrated hearts even wailed
that beauty is nothing but skin deep!

Descriptions fail, debates prove futile,
nor any norms dare narrate!
Yeah, this'should where
every epicurean tumbles in vain!

Where lies the real beauty:
in embellished body
or in an unblemished mind? !

Why in Theresa's gentle amble
dazzles a beautiful guardian angel?

How the bare-mouthed Mahatma
by one pure smile of his
could gear up millions
to bare their lives
for their mother land? ?

Discern and discover my friends...
beauty mundane...beauty divine...
beauty haughty beauty holy?

Learn O' friends
seeing through earthly bodies...
deep into the intrinsic,
where you find beauty authentic!

All that stares at you
is just cosmetic!

There is a saying, 'Even for the mother crow, its chicks appear beautiful.' Beauty is relative and temporary. The beautiful flower in the morning fades in the evening. A beautiful woman becomes ugly look at in her old age, yet she does not lose her charm for those who respect the womanhood and not her beauty. A good theme you have taken for the poem and I like this very much.

true beauty? the most beautiful woman on earth but not listed is Mother Teresa, my model and my guide to do what I should ought to do....we can see true beauty through the deeds, heart and soul.... through loving the unlovable and give to those who cant give back... ....wonderful piece..an eye-opener... soul-touching piece...thanks sir for making this..a great tribute to Mother Teresa of Calcutta...

trying to define the undefinable, elevating to the humane level is worthwhile.....
