Beauty Poem by Paula Glynn

Beauty

Beauty is skin deep and shines from the soul,
It radiates love and empathy.
It is honest, faithful and loving,
It doesn't back down,
It comes from a sunny sky,
A moonlit summer night,
It is the first day of spring,
And the first snow of winter.
Beauty doesn't pretend or lie,
It creates inner happiness,
And helps those in need.
And beauty is brave in the face of danger,
Beauty can be male or female,
And it doesn't discriminate,
And beauty is created in everyday life.
It is a joyous celebration,
Beauty can be carried into old age,
And beauty isn't just for those in the spotlight:
Sometimes light shines through the concrete jungle,
Where flowers blossom and grow,
Breathing life-giving oxygen,
To those consumed wirh doubt,
And the beauty is, beauty is all around,
Just a blink away from opening morning eyes,
To see a world in glorious technicolour.
