Beautiful Souls

You have taught me that
Life is not all about the big things
Life is all about those little things
Life is about knowing yourself
It is about appreciating yourself
It is about loving and pampering yourself
When nobody else is

You taught me that life is unfair
But I should never be his victim
You taught me not to be hard on myself
Because there are billions of people out there
Who are willing to do that for me for free
You taught to speak up for myself
When someone wrongs me
You taught me to be bold in life
To stand up for myself

I come running to you
When my day is going bad
When I need to be reminded
That I am beautiful
That I deserve good things in life
Not only good things but the best
You never wipe away my tears
But you show me the best possible way
To wipe away those tears

You are a blessing in my life
A blessing that
I never thought I will have
A blessing that I want to keep for a lifetime
A blessing that I will always treasure
Forever and ever and ever plus a day

Poem of the Day

poet James Whitcomb Riley

There! little girl; don't cry!
They have broken your doll, I know;
And your tea-set blue,
And your play-house, too,
Are things of the long ago;
