Beautiful Friend Poem by Ragy Sandid

Beautiful Friend

Isn’t this sweet?
Not a sound on the street!
(That’s when I host
My guest of a ghost
That somehow got lost
The one I miss the most)

Suddenly there’s a riot
After that sweetly quiet
[What was I thinking of
The day I lost your love
Did I think friends need proof
To show what they’re made of]

The sky and the earth
Apart both share a worth
And when it came for us
To test which lines we cross
We knew which one loved less
One of us was simply the best

The ground spoke to the sky
The sky knew the ground didn’t lie
{Now where would we simply be
If we let go of our eternity
That we forged in its entirety
On letting me be you and you be me

There’s the sound of a car
Everything’s gone far
I remember my beautiful friend
Without words said he’d be here till the end
With noise coming in I hear his voice
“Being a beautiful friend is a choice”
