“beautiful Butterfly” Poem by persian khushi

“beautiful Butterfly”

Watching your caterpillars
Devour my citrus tree leaves
So miraculous indeed
Some black, some green
A pest for many
A wonder to me
Captured in a glass jar
Feeding you fresh citrus leaves
Beautiful to watch you cut these leaves
Into the tiniest bites
Eat as much as you can
For in a few weeks you will be a chrysalis
Growing stronger within
Transformed and cocooned in your little world
While I am waiting in anticipation
For the moment to arrive
For you to show the world
Your beautiful colours
Yellow and black
Graceful wings lifting in the breeze
Strengthening
Gently flapping as your colours capture
Your first rays of the sunlight
Off you go
Fly away to your new world
