Bear Up - Lincoln Park Zoo Poem by Ima Ryma

I am American black bear,
Home here at the Lincoln Park Zoo.
A forested area is where
You will see me, I will see you.
Like humans, I am omnivore.
Both plants and animals I eat.
One substance I do love galore -
Honey - ah such a divine treat!
Teddy, Winnie the Pooh, Smokey
Were human inspired by my kind.
Quite a bond with humans there be.
I'm glad to help such ties that bind.

Since life at the Zoo is so great,
I do choose not to hibernate.
