The sun was a mere ball of gold
Sinking from the sky
On its way to worlds beyond
Where doves and eagles fly
And as it set beneath the waves
He took me by the hand
Running freely on the shore
Through warm and milky sand
He brushed my windblown hair aside
As waves rolled on the beach
We spent a precious moment there
Within each other's reach
And as we turned to walk away
The gold sky changed to red
All the world was silent as
A gull flew overhead
