It’s easy to reach
A state of depression
Darkness seems to
Surround everywhere.

A common disease
That occurs in people
One seems to lose
Interest in all things.

How this state comes
No one knows for sure
When it occurs be sure
To provide all support.

Let the person know
World is full of people
All ready to provide
Whatever help needed.

Some compassion and
Words of encouragement
May go a long way
To drive depression away.

A little lamp that's lit
Drives darkness away
Be the sparkle in the
Lives of others around.
