Be Honest Poem by Tara Hills

Be Honest

They say it Hurts
Tastes bitter
Is cruel
Be honest anyway

They say it is a Lie
Is unkind
Incorrect
Be honest anyway

They say it is Relative
Offensive
Uncool
Be honest anyway

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
We live in a world that makes it hard to tell the truth, because people so easily jump to conclusions about it, or it offends them, or hurts them. The truth of the matter though, is that we need the truth, we need honesty if we ever intend to grow and become better people. I would rather hurt someone with the truth, than make them happy with a lie, because eventually, the truth will come out, and then they will be hurt, even more so than had I just told the truth. I suppose that's really where this poem came from.

Yes, indeed. The world of hyprocritical, whinging, ultra-sensitive adult-babies. No offense to the regular babies; they're cool. Yes, the tell me what you really think crowd; even though, I know, that you know, that I know, that you know, that you can't handle anything other than fakeness and flattery. Where truth loses you relationships. Awesome poem. Cheers,
