Base Poem by Phineas Molale

Base

Don't rely on me, count on me
Don't expect me to take care of you, let me care for you
Don't expect me to go far and beyond for you, I wanna be hear for you
Don't expect me to give you the definition of this feeling people misconceive
Don't expect me to be right though I swear never to do you wrong
Don't expect anything, if you want this to work

We are beginning, and this is just the foundation
Are we ever gonna roof it
Stay and leave in it
Feel the warmth of it and the coldness of seasons
What are the chances of it being demolished by disasters
Cos not everyone that smile really smiles
And some that shakes your hand wanna twist it
The past is bitter and so I kissed it
Let go and ceased it

I'd hate to be one of, I'd love to stay the one
Till time itself is no more
Decease and cease in your arms
And love you again after life

Since this is just the base
And all this are my hopes
Let's make it work

You lay the groundwork for what could be happily ever after we all seek. Such truth in the simple words you have shared. Well executed and inspiring. Keep at it! PEACE
