Ballad Of Chichi And Chichi Poem by Kuda Bondamakara

Ballad Of Chichi And Chichi

'Sister, sister, in the darkness we currently stay
Darling sister, do you see me?
As we are bound together night and day
Can you more than visualise what I could be? '.

'No, no, I see you not my beloved sister
For, intense is the darkness that surrounds us
And my vision is still lacklustre
But clearly do I hear your whispers'.

'Then stretch your smooth hand over here
And plate my shiny night-dark hair
Which has always been unkempt, sister dear
Ever since we became a pair'.

'My hand reaches you not, loving sister
Though your swirls I constantly do feel.
For between us lies an ever flowing river
Which keeps us apart in this ordeal'

'How much longer sister, have we to wait;
To see each other in the light of the day?
For I too, long to be with you beyond this gate;
And can't wait one more day'

'Every day, I live with no other thought sister dear
Than to hold your hand and walk into the sunshine with you.
But it seems ages before we can have our dream there
For I yearn every day, in this darkness, to see you too'.
