Baffled Poem by Elliott Rosenberg

Baffled

Came around the bar tonight,
Don't know really why,
I'm just feeling lonely,
For some hugs and double rounds.

I Think I'm ok mama,
Cause your shadow lingers on,
Even though our hearts departed,
I'm still holding on.

Sorry for the sorrows,
Sorry for the pain,
Sorry for the rainbows,
Smiling in the rain.

Baffled with existence,
I grab a folding chair,
I sit and stare at nothing,
saying nothing but HELLO.

Hang'n on the wall,
There was a mighty word,
It spelled 'CONTEMPLATION',
Somewhere in the darkness of my soul.

Then you kept me out a while,
Standing in the cold,
tears dribbled down my neck,
I just stood there!
That's all.

Now Darling!
You did come around,
I was too stoned to know,
too young to know,
That our love ended there.

But I know that I love you,
And I know that you care.
So please don't go,
Don't go over there.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
I wrote this poem for all lovers baffled at themselves. In the hope that one day we just wake up out of the daze. And so I gift this poem to my friend Gabriel the angel who is trying to make it as a musician.
