Bad Seeds Poem by Talile Ali

Bad Seeds

I heard some one tell me they hate a group
Reminds them of Michael Jackson
There was nothing wrong with the music
And their hate was so exacting
And It got me to start thinking
About how we hate what we don't know
Sometimes it is for no other reason
except reminding of us of another
We don't know
A single thing
About
We have more hate in this world
Than one could ever have imagined
Seems like the hate out numbers love
Just like the stars up in the heavens
And the reasons are so simple
Fan with a fervor and filled with zeal
But when it comes to giving love
We seem to all be just pain heals
People'll say they love a stranger they haven't even met
My the neighbor across the street
They see, and hate because of it
Could be the car that persons driving
Or the food they saw them eat
Or a smell coming from their house
Or simply because they never meet
A land of hate
We cultivate it
Just like a garden
We propagate it
But we are strangers
To hope and compassion
'And knowing true love
Is being rationed
from every one
with locks and guns
With propaganda
And ugly fun
We've made a business
Out of our hates
It seems theirs profit
When we don't relate
But when we're caring
And loving for true
It seems we just don't
know what to do
Did we ever know what it is
To love each other in this land
Probably before colonization
When tribal nations ruled these lands
But the people who now inhabit
Al we hold to be our home
Did they ever know how to love
Or was hate all they ever known
We live in a land of sickness
Propagated with filth and greed
We seem to sow it like no other
And we share it like it's feed
And We toss around our love
as if its nothing to us at all
because the truth is that we don't know
How to love each other at all
Sick puppies
Running wild
Its their nature
To defile
Sick People
Rule or needs
We're a nation
