Backup Plan
I am the backup plan,
It means exactly what is sounds like.
I am never chosen first because there is always someone better,
and I've come to terms with that.
When my best friends think about the people they care about most my name wont come up.
Because you see, I am only the backup plan.
I'm the one you call if your plans fall through because you know I'll be doing nothing.
I am the the one you call when you want to rant because you know that I have no one to tell your secrets to.
I am the one that no one ever remembers.
I will never be in your mind but you will always be in mine because even though I was your backup plan you were my first choice.
Why can't I be first? Why can't I be remembered? What have I done to deserve this?
I want to be first. I want to be thought of. I no longer want to be the backup plan.
But that's not how life works.
So I smile, and am always there because even if I'm just the backup plan at some point you'll need me, so I guess that's enough......
Right?
