Back Poem by Kathlyn Grace

Back

I thought you were gone
never coming back
I smiled and I laughed
and I forgot how to bleed
I needed no one
I needed nothing
I needed less of all
you
And then you hit
with a killer sight
and a vengence
clearly in mind
you hit me hard
and you hit me right
you knew I was weak
you knew just how to speak
soothing me deeply
sleeping soundly
you took me to comfort
told me you were all I needed
no one else mattered
their pain wasn; t mine to deal with
they would only tear me down in the end
and I believed you
like I always have
and as you slit my life
I bleed for the first time
in months
and I hated you
for making me love you again
