Baby Klipspringer - Lincoln Park Zoo Poem by Ima Ryma

Baby Klipspringer - Lincoln Park Zoo

A baby klipspringer, I sprang
Into life in Lincoln Park Zoo.
Being raised by the keeper gang,
Cuz Mom did not know how to do.
My name in Afrikaans does mean
Rock jumper, cuz my kind are tops
At bouncing through the rocky scene.
You'll be amazed to watch us hops.
A tiny type of antelope,
We only eat and drink from plants
That we find on the rocky slope,
Over surefootedly we dance.

Humans are giving me great care.
It's fun klipspringing through Zoo air.
