Babble Like A Child Poem by Don Nguyen

Babble Like A Child

The distance is shortened by the voice
From a lover calling out for his beloved.
Love, absence might totally destroy
If a lover stops believing in love.
Thoughts to his beloved serve as the link
For Love to come at the moment he thinks.
Don't let the lover go even he is unseen
As ripened fruits start from the green,
Love will germinate from a smallest spark.
To find love I don't need to embark
On a long journey such as one to poetry land,
But all I need to do is to look into my hand,
Then imagine that we hold hands together,
Then to smell the fragrance in the air,
To think that he just passes by for visit,
Then I ask him to stay a while and sit.
And that how we begin our daily conversation
Between heart to heart with such passion.
We never fear that it is all for naught,
For the fragrance in his voice has brought
All my sentiments and the surrounding alive.
Sometimes the feeling is so strong, I cry,
But I remember many moments we had spent,
Wordless I loved best, for my heart had stemmed
All the essence of a romantic conversation,
Romance of sort, human of sort, divine of sort.
I babbled like a child, like Branch's offshoot,
I don't mind to tell him the same things over
And over again in the run-away sentences,
Like no dike which can hold back my sentiment.
When the child feels nearby love's presence
With his childish mind, he doesn't stop wonder
If Love which has initiate thousand words
Has originated from the air
or from the very core of his heart.
