B L U E S Poem by Michael Shepherd

B L U E S

Rating: 2.1

no, it’s beyond words.

say a word your word
if you need,

death loss tears grief gone ever
it’s beyond all these

take them hold them
press them tear them

squeeze from them
the tears of things
tears at the heart of things

squeeze this pure pure liquid
from these from life itself

so pure it’s nameless
so pure it’s the being
of your being,
the truth of truth,
the beauty, of all the sadness
that ever,

so pure, so true
that never again;
so pure, it could be
joy or love or grace
wash in its purity
this is life

Yes, TMack, feeling something is better than feeling nothing, and feeling lots is better than feeling a little - let it all hang out there, thats what the blues are all about! Heart on your sleeve is right, you bet!

There's a reason why it's called 'blues', though I can't quite diagnose it. You got me singin' it? More like cryin' it. This says it all - heart on sleeve. Is feeling something better than feeling nothing? Not sure. But I am sure I hope this fine piece isn't personal. t x

It's no longer beyond words. You've made sure of that, you clever man. For me Billy Holliday is the blues...

Michael...How i tried with intrepid force to get the tune out of my mind, but it just kept refraining, inside my creative left -halve...it was your words from''Blues', and a park avenue & fifth, east side of N.Y. B.B. King slow-finger -snappin melody & as only Gleason could say it'How Sweet It Is '.......Heres th' deal, Michael... a combo of my new york series & your 'Blues', for lyrics.....Can Carter sing? We could try alan, but word has it he's watching halloween flicks in lieu of reading my poetry...so, possible, but fixable dilema...Hey, Great work, Michael! ....FRANK.
