Awoken Poem by Nicole Baker

Awoken

Rating: 5.0

Bruised and hurt I lay there
Explosions fill the air
They come closer to me
But I can't see
All is black
I can't push back
Against this wall forcing me under
Then another shot loud as thunder
Jolted the wall making it crumble
Watching that black curtain tumble
Aware of what's happening
Senses alert and searching
Now staring down a barrel of dark metal
Then I send it flying to break against the wall
Another attack follows
As he pushes me into the shadows
Trapped against the cold brick surface
He strikes but it's a miss
Flipping over him I swing
The attacker stands there swaying
Losing his balance he lands on his stomach
I walk away knowing he'll be back
