Away Poem by Fae Sebastian

Away

Tonight we will fly
Through the skies
That look more red than flame
We feel so damned
Conspired against
Someone dreams of our deaths
But we do not fear them
We fear no one, nothing
And the sky breaks open before us
Blackness pours like rain
And we stand tall
Our pride shines like a beacon
Guiding the lost ones here
To kneel at our feet
Though those on the outside
Laugh at us
We, who they call fools and lunatics
But never again will they get the chance
Never again will they be able laugh in our faces
For tonight we will go!
We will leave this place!
Right now we say goodbye!
And you must know!
All of you must know!
That we will never come back here again!
Never return to this place we once called home!
