Awaken my dear sweet friend to a new life
One without all the turmoil, pain or strife
Open your eyes to a new beginning
And watch and see you will be winning

Keep your heart always open and free
Keep your min open and look and see
Awaken for the world is not the same
You are longer the one to blame

Awaken my dear sweet friend for the sun is out
Get up, get out and go ahead and shout
Today is a new day and God has given it to you
You no longer need to hurt or even feel blue

At the end of the day and as it grows dark
Just remember that the world has left its mark
The memories you have made
Are yours now to save

So now it time to lay down and rest
You can now say that you have done your best
Close your eyes and go to sleep
And remember to ask God for your soul to keep

Sleep peacefully knowing that he is at your side
But it is by his rules that we must all abide
You will awaken to even a brighter and better day
Pray and ask God to help you handle whatever comes your way

Some days may be a little crazy to handle
Take a walk after you have slipped on your sandals
Clear your mind and open your heart
Just remember today you have awakened to a band new start

Start each and every day as if was new
Even if you are feeling lonely and blue
Open your eyes to a new beginning
And watch and see; you be winning
