Autumn In The Garden Of Words Poem by Heidi K. Haskell

Autumn In The Garden Of Words

Rating: 2.8

So rest assured in assonance,
Sweet dissonance, and diffidence-
Justly eschewing affluence;
Pretend poverty's on purpose.
Loll in yellow, mellow fellow,
Lurid leaves, the fall's furbelows
Blow below the fallow bellow.
All the wicked's wealth is worth this.
Sudden hidden golden holdings
Deadened lead, then daylight gilded
Goodly alchemy unfolding:
Flames of fickle Fate have found you.
Murmur comely tumbling grammar
Oh, humbly mumble homonyms
Thrum to rhyme's inherent glamour
Swirling syllables surround you.
