Australia that has inspired song, story and rhyme
An old Land that was old before the Dreamtime
Before the first dinosaur or the first gum tree
Australia existed surrounded by sea
Many thousand of centuries before the first people to it came
Australia was an old Land one without a name
Those who call it a young Country have got it all wrong
To ancient pre history it does surely belong
'Tis not of a young Country that one should speak
It's marsupial mammals does make it unique,
How old is Australia it's age is unknown
The Land that has a rugged charm of it's own
A huge southern Country of varying scenery
Australia the great Land surrounded by sea.
