August Afternoon Poem by Rich Reitz

August Afternoon

I ventured out of town today
Into a world of leafy green,
Walking in a woodland
So peaceful and serene.
The woods were cool and quiet,
No human sounds were heard.
Just Nature at her finest...
The sweet sound of a bird,
The gentle trickling of a brook,
The scent of vegetation,
The warmth of the summer sun;
A wonderful sensation.
A bright blue sky with puffy clouds
Floating on the breeze.
The buzz and hum of insects.
It put my soul at ease.
A beautiful August afternoon;
The Creator's love unfurled.
Thank you, God, for showing me
The beauty of this world.
