Auchi 2010 Poem by Martins Akhoeneto

Auchi 2010

All inhabitants and friends troop enmasse
Out in hundreds, as guest to a cinema
To watch and chant in glee of ovation
To this strangers from foreign land
Ancient city of the country side
Parading the streets with one red eye
A cruise of six abled gunslingers
To leave our lousy city in repeating bangs

Six hungry men with six angry devices
As a brigade, marching to drain the
vault
Trying to restore pride to their idle certificates
This time, the policeman was foe nor friend
This time they were on different jobs
To them even a whisker was target, a threat
Unleashing venom on all official regalia
Them and them who does the daily pay
Doing the gunfight for the love of family
Doing the blood-bath as sole-survivors.
