I am not skilled at attraction
Though I'm not lacking in looks,
For my one preoccupation
Is about poetry and books.

I am not rich but I'm healthy
Blessed with wit, a probing mind.
I consider myself rather wealthy
With the brilliant friends I find.

I'm the kind that never used make-up
Inner beauty is best, I suppose-
Goodness of heart is more than enough
For I can never compete with a rose.
