Attic Poem by Rose Marie Cook

Attic

What lies beneath that roof
The secrets yet untold
What hidden treasures might we find
The memories that it holds

Little girls up at night
Curiosity in their eyes
Pre-teenagers
Looking for a fright

Little boys running around
Building in their little towns
Teen boys
Searching in clothing mounds

Little women
Little men
Sorting boxes
To take with them

Old memories
Replaced with new
All in the attic
The place they grew
