At The Fireplace Poem by Dennis Go

At The Fireplace

I shove the coldness
In the heat
Of the fireplace,
Piercing down
My spine
Shivering, with no one
To warm my seat.

Where's the cup
Of aroma and steam
To spare my bones?

All's left
Is the teaspoon
Stirred upon
The taste bud
Of a dying beverage.
