At Peace Poem by Bernard Jess Sagpang

At Peace

When the sun lies west

And I am nowhere found

When the stars are at rest

And the stone clouds surround

When the wind’s song was winter’s

And your tears fall as snow

My leaves shall fall like summer’s

Full of life in death below

With this I am so sure

With this I am so glad

Mourn for the pain, a cure

As I will live a life I never had

With this I am so confident

With this I am at home

And my heart is at peace

Forever at peace!
