At Last The Discovery Poem by Emmanuel George Cefai

At Last The Discovery

At last!
At last the discovery
The Poet-Seer
Given some due
His verses
Students read
His verses
People sing and
Love
And
Housewives at work
Hum.

Hurray, I've found the Poet-Seer in his heyday! When he is still healthy and vigorous and provides the people of whom he is a part with their visions in his words. This is exactly the view of poetic success Yeats aimed at. He did not seek personal fame (but he got it anyway): rather he wanted his poems to become part of the people's everyday life, a washerwoman reciting his verse was his hope. W.B., your vision is realized in Emmanuel's poem! Please, read it!

Hurray! Public recognition! Readers' validation for the effort of the writer. Just what we writers need and crave. We writers have complicated our lives by creating ANOTHER NECESSITY. Like everyone else, we need (NEED!) food, shelter, rest and sleep, sensuality, companionship, etc. B-U-T then we write poems from the stuff of our souls and hearts, poems to move, excite, inform, delight our fellow human beings - and thus we (WE!) create this new need within for exactly what the Poet Seer is finally experiencing in this poem - His message was received and acknowledged by his peers! ! They are grateful, he is grateful. The world is spinning to an Allegro rhythm. Smiles are spontaneous. Oh, may it come at last for us all.
