ASTONISHED:

Astonished- by gifts of love
Paralyzed- empty quiet rest
Expectant- edging
For a handful
Drowning in all the moments
Time runs beginning with
Moment to moment ending with
Stopwatch mental precision
Frozen in absolute conscience
Cascading- too many
Explanations
Entangled- in too much money
Expended- moral decay
Holy Spirit- set backdrops
In play- spilt upon acts
Portrayed—upstage front
Silences behindhand
Backlight tannin flesh tight
Around strong skin enclosed
Self-conscience

(Lee B. Mack, Astonished, Page 2)

Tantalizingly tempting
Trancelike- foregoing foreplay
Though dressed jazz opera
Primping every sinew that tugs
On volition- following on
Erecting strings of cabling
Strung in a highway
From spillways run to bridge
To surge blood red waters
Into driven sweat
Love's profuseness driven
To ballet
Willingly limber for flight
Astonished- that love is hard
Too hard to hold onto
Flees- to the rim
Of height above rain
And wind
Uplifted- to swirls
Into moons
Naturally appearing globules
Cratered- forming novel
Familiar literatures
In black and white faces
Astonished- chosen gifts
Of strength
Marveled- saved from all
Troubles by
Fulfillment of time at
Your embrace.
