Assault Not With Amorous Looks! Poem by Rajendran Muthiah

She loves him for some of his assets in his nature
but he takes pity on her and advises her to be away.
He doesn’t want to inveigle himself into her heart
as he wants to live a sin-free life.
What feature of him caught her mind?
He is not able to guess but he doesn’t want
to be an internee in her temple of love.
“Is it right to be an interloper
in the mind of someone’s wealth? ”
The will of that honest man’s heart
breaks up at the spell of her glances.
The bud bursts not for all the butterflies
but to one that marvels its soul.
She has some needs for physical comfort;
but he doesn’t want to irrupt into her husband’s estate.
If he keeps silence when he meets him
he can’t bear it as he doesn’t betray anyone’s trust.

Loving is not an icky feeling but he loves the only one
who sparked his mind with thoughts of wonder
to soar up at times and fall down into some fathoms deep
full of sorrow with untellable tales of woe.
