Ashes On Her Shelf Poem by faith toney

Ashes On Her Shelf

Kill me now
somebody put me out of this misery
if you loved me you surely would
help me help myself
im dying so why don’t you move this process along
faster and faster with each breath we share
cause without you im dead
no love could fill the hole you left
god can try and try
but he is at lost for your far to worth it
god understands but he is nothing but comfort
the fabric is torn to pieces
and unraveled we are
horizontal and vertical we use to lay
I stare at the ceiling
looking for the knife shape to fall on my body
end the night with a huge finale
the pain of yesterday has doubled
you’ve brought me time
time to spend as I wish
wishing is for cowards who don’t explore
risk takers we unite
this blackened heart of mine is far too cold
I make risks worth the time
you are a exploration gone out of reach
I let go thinking you would hold on
mother nature has steered me into the unknown
living without will
knowing the demons haunt my internal memories
there you lay as dead to me as the ashes on your shelf
alive in memories and dead in being
