Ashes, Ashes Poem by alex manson

Ashes, Ashes

Ashes, ashes, on the floor
Won’t you burn up once more?
Won’t you blow away,
And seize the day?
Ashes, ashes, on the floor
Won’t you burn up once more?
Ashes, ashes, what did you used to be,
Maybe papers, maybe love, maybe me?
Ashes, ashes, on the floor you remain,
Weren’t you once rage in my veins?
Ashes, ashes, do you still burn?
Ashes, ashes, my anger will learn.
My blood washed over these ashes here
My tears fell on the flames of drear.
Ashes, ashes, you are the result
Reminding me that it was all my fault.
Ashes now laying cold
You are getting old.
Ashes, ashes, so shattered and grey,
Won’t you blow away?
Burn up my soul, hottest white
Turn it to ashes, ashes, tonight.
Burn me, engulf me in flames
Let only the forgotten ashes remain.
Ashes, ashes, on the floor,
Blowing out the door,
Won’t you burn up once more?
