As The Years Go By And The Days That Pass

A boy and a girl grew up together, solemnly close and inseparable. At both ages of 12, the young girl pleaded; ;

Girl; ; 'As the years go by and the days that pass,
promise me that no matter what, we shall stick together.'

The boy nodded his head and gave her a kiss on the cheek; ;

Boy; ; 'This day shall be remembered, as we both
came to an agreement, we belong to each other, no
one else shall be in the middle.'

As the years go by and the days that pass, at both ages of 16, the young girl pleaded; ;

Girl; ; 'Don't give me that look, not even your smirk.
I hate your guts and I want you to disperse.
Give me a touch, I'll shove you off. If you mess with me,
you'll have to go through Henry first.'

Boy; ; 'As high school got to your head, you've changed
completely and forgot on what we promised. You'd be with me,
I'd be with you, but I guess that just wasn't ever meant to be.'

On that faithful day, the young boy and girl never spoken to each other again. The boy moved to Detroit, the girl moved to Louisiana. As the years go by and the days that pass, at both ages of 23, a phone rang for the man to answer.

Man; ; 'Hello? Who is calling? '

There was no answer over the phone. Complete silence, nothing but silence.

Man; ; 'Hello? Is anyone there? ' The man repeated continuously.

Woman; ; 'Hello? ' The woman finally answered.

Neither one of them recognized each other from the first call, the woman felt embarrassed, and said it was a wrong number which she thought was right. Before she hung up, the young man shouted; ;

Man; ; 'Wait! May I ask who is calling? '

Girl; ; 'Jasmine.'

Man; ; 'Jasmine who? '

Jasmine; ; 'Jasmine from Fando High, Christopher, is that you? '

Christopher; ; 'Jasmine. Oh, Jasmine. How I yearned to
hear your voice again. My lovely girl, where have you been
from the rest of my days? '

Jasmine cried and cried as she tried to apologize, but all Chris did was nod and sighed.

Jasmine; ; 'Oh, Chris. I'm sorry from what I've done,
The things I've said and the actions I've made.
Forgive me, my friend. Forgive me, my love. Will there be a time
that it could be like the past? '

Christopher knew it was too late to answer, Jasmine squealed over the phone and hung up before he could explain. As the hours went by, from days to months, from summer to winter, Jasmine decided to call back; ;

Jasmine; ; 'I got my ticket, my luggage, and I'm ready
to fly! Hopefully you are there to give me a wonderful ride.
Show me the place you've stayed and give me a tour
of your home place; I want to know on what you've done, its been
so many years, when shall we start? '

Christopher felt bad and didn't know what to say. He felt cornered and limited, but he couldn't deny her request. So Jasmine jumped and screamed and cheered from the top of her lungs, Christopher was also happy, but wasn't as sure. When Jasmine took off on her plane to Detroit, Christopher got worried and didn't know what to do. So he made a plan and started it right away, when Jasmine got to the airport, Christopher was already there. Jasmine ran to him and Chris held out with open arms, as they both hugged and stared, they both knew they saw sparks.

As the day went by, from minutes to hours, they spoke like old times, as if nothing were to change.

Jasmine; ; 'I'm glad I'm here with you, now.
Forever till death. Chris, tell me if you
remember this; `As the years go by and the days that pass,
promise me that no matter what, we shall stick together.`

As the days went by, from months to years of not seeing you..
I always thought on what could have been and how it should have ended.
For me being with you and you being with me, living happily together
and let the world be the lead; that is what I've always thought, and the
thought has never been changed.'

Christopher wanted to cry but he held the tears back up, and looked over at Jasmine's piercing blue eyes; ;

Christopher; ; 'Jasmine. There is something I
wish to explain. Its painful yet the truth, I wish no
harm on you. But I'm a husband and a father
to two beautiful children. The three most important people of my life.
On that Faithful day when you and I never glanced at each other,
I felt like that would have been the end. When I moved, I
wanted a new life, a new home, a new love. But ever since that day you
called, I was completely in shock. Now as the man I am today, I
can't get my mind straight.'

Jasmine couldn't believe her eyes and ears. She shook her head and began to tear; ;

Jasmine; ; 'Oh, Christopher, I am sorry.. I can't even explain it in words.
We've waited to long and fights had been held, I wish I was able to change the past..'

Christopher and Jasmine sat down on a bench, looked at each other once more before Jasmine made her leave.

Jasmine; ; 'Before I go, I wish to give at least
an innocent kiss goodbye, till furthermore we shall only be friends.'

Christopher; ; 'This day shall be remembered, as we both
came to an agreement, we no longer belong to each other, no
one else shall longer be harmed any longer.'

As Christopher gave her a first-last kiss goodbye, he drifted off along the way. Looking back at Jasmine's figure, going from solid to blur from the foggy weather. Till that moment on, they shall not be seen together. As the years go by and the days that pass, at Jasmine's age of 43, with a loving husband and 3 kids to be, no longer wish to know on Christopher's whereabouts. It's best to be said that he has his wonderful wife and kids, living in a normal life, doing his regular routine. And as long as she lives her life and he living his, they know they are happy in their own special little way.

As the years go by and the days that pass, at Christopher's age of 55, died of depression and cancer that spread in his body. His wife and kids are mourning for him, loving on who he was, and remembering the good things he did. No longer wishing to know on Jasmine's whereabouts, he has lived and loved his life, nothing he can complain. But his main wish that he has always wanted in his will; ;

Christopher; ; 'Let my love for Jasmine be never broken or forgotten,
To wish her a healthy and a great life, to see her once more, even after our
last goodbye. Seeing her smile once again, would really enlighten my heart.'

Till that moment on, they shall not be together... As the years go by and the days that pass, at Jasmine's age of 59, things were plain till Jasmine had died. Her main wish that she has always wanted in her will; ;

Jasmine; ; 'Let my love for Christopher be never broken or forgotten,
To wish him a healthy and a great life, to see him once more, even after our
last goodbye. Seeing him smirk again, would really enlighten my heart.'
