As The Frost Rolls Over Poem by Erika Michelle

As The Frost Rolls Over

curiosity
mystically
confusingly he sees me
as more than what i see me
i keep trying to feel
i keep trying to think
but it's blackness inside of me.
he sees that and still just loves me
i dont understand.
as the curiosity wells up and swells
i wonder among the clouds,
floating above
i think of life without love
which means the most to me
and i just cant breath.
like being in a crowd and theres human stank all around
but up here i'm free,
theres nobody but the three,
bird tree and the simple serenity
we are never coming down.
fly he says as he is rooted in the ground
so i take a leaf up with me.
the smoke rolls out without a sound.
i am free as a bird should be
i am flying as fast as i can.
trying to beat the madman
flying fast in the wind
it seems to never decend
no longer lost
the grass begins to frost
and as night time creeps
i lay my head to sleep
and the peace of it all surrounds me
someday i might be
in the stars with the tree.
