As Now I Understand Poem by Kritika Yadav

As Now I Understand

Your anger was useless & your scolding was just a torture,
Your action was rationalising when you said it's for the sake of our future.
Now your action seems relevant & your temper will no more drive me mad,
Bickering with you how immature I was, now I really feel bad.

As now I understand there is no more a word of complain for me,
Cause may be distance has parted us or you fear that no more together we could be.

Please scold me again though for a while,
I won't utter a single word but just smile.

Seeing me back from school you wanted to know how was my day,
You seemed me pathetic asking me same question in some or the other way.
You just wanted to confirm if everything around me is alright,
Overlooking your wavering mind how egoistic I was keeping only my own heart so light.

As now I understand there is no more of those questions for me,
Cause may be distance has parted us or you fear that no more together we could be.

Let's have a talk though for a while,
You just ask & I will answer each with a smile.

You always wanted to buy me the best,
Discarding your choices why always I was at unrest.
You cooked hard being considerate about just my health & taste,
But like a fool I made you hurt as you must have thought it just as waste.

As now I understand there is no more of those choices & taste for me,
Cause may be distance has parted us or you fear that no more together we could be.

Let's go out together though for a while,
I will admire your each choice with a smile.

You always wanted me to excel in each field,
So stubborn I was to dislike your concern & the way you shield.
You just wanted to be by my side during any exams or any fights,
So ignorant I was not to notice your hard work & sleepless nights.

As now I understand there is no more of those concerns for me,
Cause may be distance has parted us or you fear that no more together we could be.

Please cover me again with your shield though for a while,
I will quietly stay by your side with just a smile.

Living vicariously I must have sculptured a better mother-figure than yours thinking it to be true,
But now as I have stepped in real life I wonder if there is anyone better than you.
