As It Seems Poem by Cristina Ventura

As It Seems

Rating: 2.5

I think and think and watch my brain burst
The pieces fall gently to the ground as time seems to proceed at half the speed
Fragments of grey matter are spewed in every which way
My thoughts like competitors in a race with individualized finish lines
My ideas like infinitesimal particles of stardust
What a wondrous display of unadulterated perplexity
It is a rush of accelerated meditations paired with a numbness that repudiates all notions
It is a paradoxical prison
It is a metaphysical bliss
It is where the mind travels before it is allowed to dream
It is that place where nothing is as it seems
